CLASSIC AND CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN

This New Jersey mansion built by designer Nannette Brown is all about merging classic and modern. Bistro chairs by Maison Gatti surround a 19th-century English rectory table at the kitchen; the classic pendant lights have been found at a Paris flea market, the refrigerator is by Sub-Zero, the range is by Wolf, the floor is ebonized oak, and the subway tiles really are by American Olean.

BOLD BLACK KITCHEN

In photographer William Abranowicz's Westchester ranch home, pendant lights by Produzione Privata hang over the marble-top kitchen counter, including a fresh, minimalistic accent into the white and black area. The black bar chairs are by the milk along with Thonet glass-lined cabinets are custom-made. The backsplash tiles are by Waterworks.
